Partition type

  • You can choose one of the following partition types:
    • Active - select this type if you want to install an operating system on this partition to boot at startup
    • Primary - select this type if you are planning to install an operating system to this partition
    • Logical - select this type if the partition will be used for data storing

    A hard disk can contain up to four primary partitions. If they already exist, Active and Primary options will be disabled and you will be able to select only the Logical partition type.
